Here at New Hope we recognise the value and necessity of studying God's Word. We study together at our corporate meetings as well as more intimately in Connect home groups. Four times during the year we run a course called New Direction which is firmly rooted in the Word. It is a great place to get to know our fundamental beliefs as a church and find out a bit more about how we do things. This is a great course for new or mature Christians and once you have completed the course you then have the opportunity to come into partnership with New Hope if you desire!

We also run Freedom in Christ Discipleship Course at New Hope Centre. Freedom in Christ is designed to help every Christian take hold of the freedom that Christ has won for them and move on to maturity. It’s a life-changing course and we’ve had some great testimonies come out of it.

We are also very excited and privileged to be running FaithWorks Bible College here at New Hope Centre. FaithWorks Bible College is an extension college of Hillsong Leadership College based in Sydney, Australia. FaithWorks is a one to two year course that runs on Monday evenings and is designed to release students into finding God’s will and purpose for their lives.

You have just begun the journey into a new life and, as such, we would like to invite you to attend a short seven- week course where you can learn the foundations of Christianity to help you in your understanding of the decision you have made. It's a great opportunity to make new friends and learn how to grow as a Christian in an encouraging and informal setting. The course runs in the evenings at 7.30pm and further details are given when you sign up. For those unable to make evenings, we also hold the course on Monday mornings.

At the end of the seven weeks, you will receive a certificate and be formerly invited to become an official partner of New Hope Community Church, where you will receive loving fellowship and ongoing support as part of our very special family.

The Freedom in Christ Discipleship Course

What is it?

Freedom in Christ Discipleship Course is a 13-week course of studies encouraging you to reach your full potential in Jesus and live in the fullness of His kingdom blessing.

Each person on the programme receives a workbook containing all the notes on each session, pointers for consideration and suggestions for daily meditation. The also receive a copy of Dr Neil Anderson’s book “Steps to Freedom in Christ”.

What should I get out of it?
That depends upon what you put into it, how committed you are to attending all the sessions and putting into place the suggestions for helping you develop your relationship with Christ. Put it this way: God wants you to prosper in every area of your life and to be an effective member of His Church. If that’s what you really want, then this course is for you!

When does it start?
Please call admin on 023 8024 3306 to ask about the next start date. A crèche will unfortunately not be available as it is inappropriate for children to be present. For those with young children, where only one parent can attend, the sessions will be copied to DVD and a repeat session arranged for a different evening during the same week. Again, it is important that children do not attend the repeat session.

What will it cost?
The programme is free to Church members and those involved in the life of New Hope Community Church. Family members and friends not associated with New Hope will be asked to pay £10.00 to participate in the course.

Faith Works Bible College at New Hope Centre

FAITHWORKS UPDATE:
Faith Works Bible College started in September 2005 at New Hope Centre. Faith Works Bible College is an extension college of Hillsong Leadership College based in Sydney Australia and is a one or two year college. Both first and second years are run for approximately three, ten week terms.

Registration for the next intake of students will run until the end of August 2009

There will be an introduction evening at New Hope Centre on 21st September at 7.00pm, where students will be given all the information and resources they need, as well as have the opportunity to ask any questions and meet the lecturers.

New Term starts
Monday 28th September 2009

Classes are held once a week in the evenings, with the exception of Bank holidays, Christmas and Easter holidays. The classes usually consist of a two one-hour lectures with a short break in between. The lectures follow the course curriculum, and are taught by internal speakers although we do have guest speakers throughout the year. On occasion, an evening is set aside for questions and discussion.

Costs: The cost per term is £85.00 Total cost per year is £255.00

Course notes: A full set of course notes and a recommended reading list are provided with each topic. These are then supplemented by the lecturers as they teach. Assignments and Homework are set each week and has to be completed. Although not comprising extensive written assignments, the homework does require students to study the course notes and related Bible passages with reflection on the weeks topics.

Please note: The course is held at New Hope Community Church, Hardley Green, Southampton and is not a correspondence course. Although the College is administered by New Hope Community Church, no student from another congregation is expected to join New Hope Community Church. There will be no Year 2 course this year, please keep checking this page for future updates about Year 2.

• that there is only one God existing eternally in the persons of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• that there is only one God existing eternally in the persons of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• in the virgin birth, earthly miracles, sinless life and the substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension and the awaited second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• that the Church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who are redeemed through His blood and are born again of the Spirit.
• that there will be a resurrection both of the saved and the lost, the first to everlasting life and the latter to everlasting punishment.
